RedRum, your initial thoughts would probably have been better made by sending a private message to mmcw2201.

I don't agree as my post was intended to be directed to mmcw2201 and the original poster at the same time.

The last one ("U bent een stom kind. Ga weg." => "You are a stupid child. Leave.") was completely inconsistent with the goals and desired image of this site.

Perhaps but after being called a "nipple" and told that English don't understand how to reply properly, I think I had the right to get a little bit irritated and so decided to post my own stupid little Dutch message.

Poor analogy, IMHO. The ability to spell does not define a good secretary, although it helps. What does help is the ability to solve problems with any available means without bugging your boss. Can't spell a word? I'd prefer to see the secretary pull out a dictionary or use a spell check, but if time is of the essence, asking someone is just fine.

The secretaries ability is irrelevant. The point is that if someone offers to do something after being publically seen to not be able to do it, then it makes me wonder why they are offering to do it.

mmcww2201's ability is not the target of my posts and it seems a few people have failed to see that. I don't have a problem with his ability, but I do have problems with people charging others for services they can't complete. Yes this user may not be charging (although when posting in the "I need a custom script" forum, you do expect some sort of money to change hands), that's fine and dandy, but I have personal experience of in-experienced users charging others for services and then basically posting lots of questions at Gossamer Forum about the paid work because they don't know how to do it, they have even pestered me with private messages asking how to do this and that.

At the end of the day, interpret my posts as you wish, there's not much I can do if you want to think I was "leaving lots of room for defensiveness".

I'd rather not see this sort of public bickering here.

And I would? .....when I make a reply and then get told it is stupid and "nonsens" then I'll reply. Simple as.
