Forum prefs

Hi,

First, thanks for making this space available. For a neophyte like me, it's a blessing :)

My question is this, and it's rather a triffling issue, but one I'd like to overcome if it's possible.

I'm trying to set up my user prefs and I've set the dispaly prefs to give me "The Blues (large font)" as a default display. However, it doesn't seem to make any difference. I still get the default orange/beige layout and the fonts are incredibly tiny. I'm using netscape on a mac, although the color choice doesn't work with IE either. The IE cookie shows my stylesheet choice as "stylesheet4", so it *should* get picked up...

Oh, just so you know, the other prefs (number of messages displayed, column size, etc.) all seem to work fine, just that style sheet thing doesn't, either on IE or Netscape.

Thanks for anyone's help with this.

Re: Forum prefs

Hmmm... the header file is applying our standard stylesheet, so it's probably overriding individual stylesheet settings. I'll see what can be done about it.

Re: Forum prefs

For Netscape:

1. Click Edit, then Preferences;

2. Open the Appearance tree, then click Fonts;

3. Check the radio button next to "Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts".

For Internet Explorer:

1. From Internet Explorer, click Tools, then Internet Options;

2. From the General tab, click on the Accessibility button;

3. Check the box next to "Ignore font sizes specified on web pages.

Re: Forum prefs

I noticed the same problem. But then with all the help I get here...I decided not to worry about the fact that I couldn't change the colors of the site Smile

I have also experienced troubles with changing the password. I originally logged in using the password that was mailed to me. I then went into my profile and changed the password. Then the next time I shut down my computer and came back here to login, it wouldn't accept my new password. So I tried my old password and it let me in. I went into my profile and both of the password boxes still had the passwords that I tried to change to.

But now I just made windows recognize the username and password so that i can get in easily. Once again...with all the help i get here...I do not let these little things bother me. Especiall when my hero MicroSoft allows me to do mind blowing things such as...saving passwords to a file Wink
