perl cgi to ban IP blocks

i have been looking for a cgi program written in perl for UNIX .

i have a domain and would like to be able to ban blocks of IP's . i.e. ban 212.45.xxx.xxx from accessing any part of my webs. a control panel would be nice but not that important as long as the script were easily configurable.

any help locating something like this would be appreciated.

...thanks in advance

Re: perl cgi to ban IP blocks

Unless you all your pages are CGI-based, you're better off using server access controls. Specific vary from server to server, but if you use Apache or any other NCSA-based server then you'd want to use an .htaccess containing Deny statements, like this ...

Code
  Order Allow,Deny
Allow from all
Deny from 212.45.
