Accessing https Pages

PerlGurus -

Is there a way to access a web page using HTTPS protocol in Perl? I'm familiar with using the HTTP::Request libraries but they don't seem to support HTTPS.

Thanks-

Re: Accessing https Pages

From the LWP manpage.

quote:
The main features of the library are:

[..]
Provides an object oriented model of HTTP-style communication. Within this framework we currently support access to http, https, gopher, ftp, news, file, and mailto resources.

Perhaps you don't have the OpenSSL libraries and the Net::SSL module installed? Neither come package with LWP, but https support is unavailable without them.
