"In Progress..." page for long process scripts

I have an indexing script that takes some form input and takes about 4 to 6 minutes to run. While it is running, the browser just sits there with the "hour glass" curser. When it is finished it prints some dynamic data to the browser.

I would like to see an interum page that says your request is being processed and then have that refreshed to the dynamic data when it script is done.

Any one know how to make this work? Would this cause problems if the user began clicking to other pages?

Thanks

Randal Schwartz handled this a Web Techniques column a while back. See http://www.stonehenge.com/merlyn/WebTechniques/col20.html
