Every, say, ten minutes

How would you get a perl script to execute every ten minutes? I have heard something about a cron function. I would really rather not use the sleep function for a ten minute sleep.

Re: Every, say, ten minutes

Assuming you're on a machine that supports cron, yes, you can set up a crontab that runs a script every 10 minutes. Before you get your server admin upset, make sure it's okay with them before you run a program so frequently.

For more info about cron, check out our "What are crontabs and how do I use them?" article, located at http://tlc.perlarchive.com/0001/04.shtml
