550: Permission denied

Hi guys,

I have been downloading many scripts and trying them out lately. Unfortunately I can't always get them installed all the way. My problem is that I used a script to create homepages for my visitors. What I ended up doing is making member directories in the wrong place. Now I can't get rid of them. When I attempt to delete the files I get 550: Permission denied. So I'd really like to get this stuff out, what do I do? Could another script be written that could delete them? Thanks for any help.

Re: 550: Permission denied

Try This.

#!/usr/bin/perl
unlink </path/to/file/*>;
exit;

You can change the path to the bin with the pages you don't want and it will clear them all out. It won't delete the actual folder but only the contents.

If there mixed in with other files you want to keep use this instead,

#!/usr/bin/perl
unlink "filename.html";
unlink "filename2.html";
exit;

Be carefull with your paths and names because you don't want to delete some files you really need.
