Require small CGI/SSI script Can't Post

Hi
I have a flatfile DB that stores data with the pipe delimiter. Within the file it stores a category field.

What I want is a small script that will access the data file via an SSI call that will count up and display the number of records for each category.

I would image the script would access the datafile and count the records for each category, but what I do not want it to do is alter the datafile in any way.

If someone can do this please it would be much appreciated - I have very limited funds for this, free would be nice :-)

Thanks

Greg

Can you please provide a few sample lines from your data file?

Please find attached a portion of one of the data files. The category field is the 7th field.

Thanks

Greg

Here you go. Be sure to read the instructions in the program and change the extension to .cgi before you upload. Then upload the file in ASCII format and change its permissions to 755 (or whatever is suitable for your server).
