forum for programmers to get work Can't Post

hello,

ok, you have a forum for if someone is looking for a script and needs it created for them, but why not have a forum for us programmers to say "hey, i am looking for some work" this couild be of great use to us freelance programmers.

i know that you need to have a demand for it to enter it so i implore any freelance programmer to sign on here and get this forum, cause YOU may be the first to get a job from it.

Thank you,
Randor

You're definitely on the right track randor. I would also like to see the $ character mentioned explicitly somewhere.

Another possibility would be a kind of bidding system, where people who wanted custom scripts to be written could post their requirements, and freelance programmers could bid down for the work. The poster could stipulate the closing date for tenders to be in, and allow a couple of days for bidders to compete.

Dave.

Mortimer, I'm not sure what you mean by "$ character mentioned explicitly somewhere".

The bidding system sounds interesting ...

I mean $money$. Sometimes people seem to be a little shy when it comes to asking for it.

And yes, I would be willing to pay a membership fee to see you right for your administration time. Or perhaps you could take a commission from each deal or something. It was just an idea off the top of my head when I saw randor having the bottle to post his idea.

Cheers,
Dave.

Perhaps this could replace Throw Down The Gauntlet? I never did comprehend how it was meant to differ from I need a program that....

so, what do you think, can we get a forum like that for now.. then maybe someone can make a "bidding" style script to run... it would really help us out..

Thanks,
Randor

Sure. Just post what you think is a good title and description.

hrmm,

how about:

Freelance Work
describe your scripting needs on this forum and freelance programmers can place bids and offer their services.

or:

I need a programmer:
Do you need a program written, but do not know where to hire someone? place your best description of the job here and let the programmers bid on the job.

feel free to edit the name or descriptions.. it is the best i can come up with without overloading my brain:)

Good on yer Jasmine! I'm sure there's a lot of grateful freelancers out there.
If it takes off, maybe you could section it off into it's own auction area. Hmmm...now I wonder where you could find a good auction program! ;)
I'de also like to say what a pleasure it is to come to a web site where you can actually speak to the admins on a personal level like this.

Cheers,
Dave.

yes jasmine,

i applaud your "hands on" approach this board.. i have gone to alot of boards in my days, and i still journey to add input when i can to quite a few, but this one really has the edge, as when i have something to say i know that there is the trusty admins there to help and give feedback.

I graciously tip my hat to you..

Randor
