making variables available to other scripts Can't Post

Hi,

This is possibly a dumb question, but my boss wants me to do something similar so...

I want to be able to make a scalar variable available to another script. Is there an easier way to do this besides passing it to a filehandle and writing it to a flat file db for future retrieval?

Re: making variables available to other scripts [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Oscar,

well another way would be to modify an environment variable (you can look here if you use unix), but really saving your data to a file is by far the simpliest way i can think of.

are you sure you really need two script? if they're launched in sequence, may be one script could call the other with the variable as an argument?
