perl/sybase (sybperl.pm) question Can't Post

Hi, im using sybperl and also DBI.
my question is does it support seeking of a particular row in a sql query result. meaning i pass an row number and it move the internal pointer to that row so that when i do a "fetch-row", that row is returned.

i read somewhere that sybase DB does not support this and even oracle doesn't... Is this true?
then again, PHP has a sybase_data_seek() that do just that?!

any advice?

thanks
john
