Whos Online Can't Post

I have seen tons of people ask for this and i was curious how you would do it so would some of the gurus out there plz enlighten us on how to do this. I looked at the WWWThreads Whos Online script and i couldnt make any since out of it.

Just a quick idea off the top of my head - when each user accesses the page that you want to record those online for, write them into a log-like text file with the time that they came online. Then, go through each of the other records in the text file, and if the time they're recorded as coming online is more than 10 minutes ago, remove them from the file.

Then, at any time, those users logged in the text file should be those that are online.

Ahh, thanks lawrence, let me put something together real fast and see if it will work. Any other ideas?
