is there a perl library with julian dates or equiv functionality?	Can't Post

Hello, the site i am working needs to have a thirty day trail period.

I am wondering if there is a library that you can add 30 days to a given date, and come out with the correct date....
for example, adding 30 days to april 15th would give you may 15th .. or adding 30 days to Dec 15th gives Jan 14th etc...

or maybe there is a free script with this functionality built in?

I would just like to avoid having to write my own julian date converter functions.

Hi

Time::JulianDay.pm is a module that deals with Julian Day conversions

If you want to d/l the module go here http://www.perl.com/CPAN-local/authors/David_Muir_Sharnoff/modules/

and click on the Time-modules-100.010..> link.

wouldn't the admin at my isp have to install this module for me to be able to use it?

its not a part of perl5 already is it?

Hi

You can install it..

Example:
Let say you have a directory called cure
upload the module to the cure directory and your cgi-script also.

put this at the top of your script

BEGIN{

unshift @INC, "path-to-your-cure-directory";

};

Basically-> the @INC is an array that contains the path to the modules install on a server.

So-> Bye putting that at the top of your script-> Perl will search the cure directory to see if the module is in there(which it will be once you upload it)

I looked through the documentation for this module but was unsure of the exact usage. If a 30 day expiration is desired, what is an example of the syntax to be used?
