TEXTAREA display format? Can't Post

If I hava in a TEXTAREA field:

Verse1 Verse1 Verse1 Verse1
Verse1 Verse1 Verse1 Verse1
Verse1 Verse1 Verse1 Verse1
Verse1 Verse1 Verse1 Verse1

Verse2 Verse2 Verse2 Verse2
Verse2 Verse2 Verse2 Verse2
Verse2 Verse2 Verse2 Verse2
Verse2 Verse2 Verse2 Verse2

Verse3 Verse3 Verse3 Verse3
Verse3 Verse3 Verse3 Verse3
Verse3 Verse3 Verse3 Verse3
Verse3 Verse3 Verse3 Verse3
.
.
.
I would like to see this "songtext" later in the database shown as HTML also in this format. Imean the free lines should also be there and they should not be deleted. All this different lines (of songtext) should not get just one big line, too.

Any tips how to do this?

I tried this but it didnīt work.

Code
$x = 'lyric'; ############################
$WBF{$x,'srt'}=$i--;
$WBF{$x}='1;';
$WBF{$x,'type'} ='TEXTAREA';
$WBF{$x,'head'}='Lyric ';
$WBF{$x,'typePar'}='ROWS=10 COLS=60';
$WBF{$x,'picture'} = '&lyric($_)';
sub lyric {
$rec{lyric} = ~ s/\n/< BR >/g;
return $_;
};
