How to Perl Archive do this? Can't Post

I have recently purchased Links SQL V 2.0.5 [after finding the link from Perl Archive] and after successful installation, I discovered that a modification would be great blessing.

I have noticed that at Perl Archives, there are features sites listed at the top of the specific categories, I would appreciate if you help me out and so I can also implement similer feature of featured/premium/sponsored listings on the top of their respective categories.

Again, thanks for a great site.

Currently, PA is running the non-MySQL version of Links (the switch to the MySQL version is in the works).

In the old Links, we just added a build featured sub in the build.cgi and are having the listings sorted by a created field named featured, then title, instead of by title. Haven't dug through LinksSQL too deeply yet, so I couldn't help much there.

Thanks for your help, you see I am kinda newbie when it comes to programming, but I am sure your suggestion will help me a lot.

Thanks for taking time to write me back.

Jasmine,

First of all I would like to thank you again for giving me a hint on how to add featured/sponsored/premium listing. With the use of Links SQL 2.0.5 I didn't even have to edit build.cgi or any other files, all I what did was:

add isSponsor column from the link properties and change build_category_sort_order in the setup options. I thought I would drop by and mention this things, I know you guys are pro in programming, but I thought, by doing so, I might save atleast couple seconds of yours, as you have helped me out.

Second Question.
I need your help with one more question. I would appreciate if you can show me how do you add image and Featured Listing in different color next to the featured listings.

Thank you and looking forward to hear from you.

This one's easy. Just insert the following into your link.html template where you want the image to appear if it's a sponsor:

Code
<%if isSponsor%>
put your image tag here
<%endif%>

Cool, that easy. And I just tried it and it is working too...... Wow it is going to be lot of fun competing against those top lawyers directories around the world.

Again, thanks for your help and support.
