Perl and threads Can't Post

Hi,
Did anybody have successful experience with subject on Linux
(Thread package, not ithreads) in case of strong conditions
(long running program with hundreds of threads) ?
Even if it was on single processor machine.
If you did - then can you tell me how to do it ?

I am trying to use latest stable 5.6.1 (got it yesterday from www.perl.com).
However there are lots of troubles:
Perl complains about failing of the thr5005 test (during make test),
random deadlocks appear during processing.

I know that threading is experimental in Perl.
And would ask - probably there is some trick(s) to make it working in the
stable way ?

Our team is going to develop script application server based on perl
and native threading support will be very helpful for us.
Tnanks, in advance.

Ildar.
