Test for Open Application Can't Post

Is there a way with Perl to test that a visitor to my site has an application open? And if so, to make that visitor close the app before moving on?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I don't think there is since that would obviously be a severe security risk...

You might be able to do something with ActiveX or possibly Java Applets... but almost certainly not with Perl
