Hey,

how would you upload an excel file into a mysql database or USE the EXCEL file and "search it" for some type of search engine..etc.

basically, I have to deal with an excel file full of entries and I am totally clueless how to implement this on a unix server.......for web use????

Can't you just convert the file into plain text , using tabs as separators??
That would be very easy to use and read by perl code.
