Activate on date/time Can't Post

I was wondering: How can you make a script perform a particular action on specific dates or times? For example, a script that sends you an email on OCT 21 at 2:00PM reminding you of a certain event.
I have been trying to think of some way to do this but I never came up with anything. I am sure there is a module or something for it that I just don't know about. Anyway, any help would be nice.

If you are running your own server, use CRON. This is similar (I guess) to the NT AT command that allows you to schedule events.

If you on on a externally hosted site, I believe that you will not have permission to set a CRON job.

I had this problem w/ but it's not that big of a deal for me. Do a search in this forum area for CRON to see what the other guys told me about it. Smile

Hope this helps.
