Hello Jasmine, It's me again , i was thinking about what PerlGuru means to me, and tried to explain it to a friend of mine a few hours ago (he said he prefer asp -- ignorant)... so my points on the discussion were those one (not about perl): 1) PerlGuru is a nice place to be, because, if i dont know how to do something, i can still ask some help. 2) On PerlGuru, if i know an easy way to solve a problem, and some one ask the question, i can help, and if it really help i feel happy. 3) Frequently, on PerlGuru, i dont know how to solve a problem, but i still fire a shell, and a "perl -de 1", find (or dont find) an answer to a particular problem, but i still LEARN something... I enrich from all this, i mean, i go on your website and i get help/learn something... My question is, why not adding a PerlGuru PayPal (or whatever) account for some peoples who like your website (as it has been closed) to send a donation? For me i wouldnt care about giving $100 or a little more each years (no, really, not every month ) to get the site running, you have over 700 user, if 1 user on 10 accepts, it will still help for webhosting and having a license for the forums? It's because i have a job since a few years, students will probably ignore that, and it's good that way too. (and i guess that being a non-lucrative society could help...) You, long user of perlguru, tell me that you wont pay, let'say $10 for a year of PerlGuru? It will (in reguards to the 1/10 ratio i mentioned) bring around $700, to make this web site up and running every now and then. Freddo Jasmine, RedRum, Mhx, and others: You really made a nice work with these forums, you need to get a reward... ;---
