Is there a Perl shell? Can't Post

(From the Perl FAQ)

Is there a Perl shell?

In general, no. The Shell.pm module (distributed with perl) makes perl try commands which aren't part of the Perl language as shell commands. perlsh from the source distribution is simplistic and uninteresting, but may still be what you want.

Re: [Jasmine] Is there a Perl shell? [In reply to] Can't Post

Update - [ freddo ] brought the following to my attention:

Quote
[url=http://www.focusresearch.com/gregor/psh/]The Perl Shell (psh) also have a list of [url=http://www.focusresearch.com/gregor/psh/psh-0.009.html#other%20perl%20shells]Other Perl Shells with a nice features comparison table.

Once you get used to it, it frequently come handy to manipulate heavy file list, and it works both on linux/windows/cygwin...
