downloading web pages via a proxy server. Can't Post

Hi there,

I need a few lines of code which will grab the html code from a webpage, but go via a proxy server.

I am completely stuck on this one. Any ideas anyone?

Many Thanks

Re: [xonath] downloading web pages via a proxy server. [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't know how to do socket programming through proxy servers, but the following HTTP route work well with proxy servers:

- Let your program open a connection to the proxy (and not directly to the HTTP server)
- Your GET comment should look like:
GET http://www.the_real_host.com/the_file.html HTTP/1.1
host: www.the_real_host.com

Now your proxy requests, receives and passes through the page to yoru.
