how to encrypt the perl source code? Can't Post

I am going to delivery a Perl CGI program to others, I'd like to encrypt the source code. For example: to make the variable $worklocation to $100100010111100010100 or something like that. Any guru who gives me some hints will be highly appreciated.

The short answer is it is not easy to do what you want to do because your user will have the script.

One option would be to use [url="http://www.indigostar.com/perl2exe.htm"]perl2exe which may do what you want.

Another would be to bundle your scripts with a module from CPAN and you can get creative by hiding the true source code and provide something else in its place for the bad guys to read. There are several variations on the theme...

[url="http://search.cpan.org/search?mode=module&query=acme"]Acme::Bleach
[url="http://search.cpan.org/search?dist=Acme-Buffy"]Acme::Buffy
Acme::Morse (bundled with Acme::Bleach)
