URL program	Can't Post

Hi
I just need a simple perl script that will validate the url a user type in. It should be in console mode, but html will do.

The script needs to check if the user typed in http, ftp.... and check that the rest of the address is correct build up, with "www.somwhere.com/catalog2/file2"

Need a simple program for this. Can anyone point me to where I should look...or maybe send me some code?? Unsure

I don't see a premade script that does this, but if you want to try your hand at writing one yourself, [url=http://search.cpan.org/doc/GAAS/URI-1.19/URI/URL.pm]URI::URL will help you get started.

i wrote a script that does this, and posted it.

search for the post titled "Web Service Test Script"

just edit the script and remove the xml stuff and it should work for ya.
