User accounts/authentication Can't Post

Hi! I'm new to CGI/PERL. I need to to set up user authentication using login names and passwords for my web-site. I heard that I am supposed to use SSL, but I'm not sure how to do it.
If anyone knows of a tutorial I might use or could describe the steps involved, I would greatly appriciate it if you tell me.

Thanks!

Hi
SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer and simply protects all communication between the server and client from prying eyes.

To use SSL you must have a server that supports SSL. Most hosts offer a shared SSL certificate. You can buy these certificates for a couple hundred dollars.

Consult you system administrator for information about using SSL on your server.

Good luck
