HTTP REFERER Error Can't Post

Small Error,

I have created a program which looks at the http referer of every user who is using the program for a security reason within my program. Some people seem to have HTTP REFERER disbaled on their computer. What is this to do with? Is there any way of getting round this? Is some settings on the client's web browser?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben Chivers

Re: [benchivers] HTTP REFERER Error [In reply to] Can't Post

It may be that a proxy somewhere between you and the browser is removing the HTTP_REFERER header. There's nothing you can do about this.

Checking the HTTP_REFERER is a bad idea anyway as it is trivial to fake.
