Creating new Web Database Can't Post

Hi all!

I need to create a database online for an IT recruiter. The database will display job information and also be searchable. We want users to be able to register online and apply for jobs with just their username and password. Can anyone recommend a database cgi script or other that would most effectively support our needs?

If anyone has ANY reccommendations for a database system that we should use, it would help greatly! I am not so sure as to where to start, and anything would be of great assistance.

Poke around the New CGI/Perl Listings.

Mix n' matching script (or parts thereof) from the Classified Ads, Database, Membership Manager, Misc., Searching and others should get you want you want.

You'd probably better much better off building (or having someone build for you) something custom.

I would agree with Kanji. You are not going to find an off-the-shelf program that does everything you need. You can either break your task up into mini-tasks and find scripts that do the mini-tasks and piece them together to get the big picture. Or, you'll need to get someone to write it for you.

Having written a similar set of scripts for a recruiter client of mine, I can tell you that it is no easy task. It cost her a pretty penny! If you find someone willing to give away that much work for free, you have found something rare.
