What's wrong with $&?	Can't Post

I'm trying to track down a bug which is causing a core dump on SunOS (5.8) under perl 5.6.1. I came across a few mentions of $& causing a core dump "under some circumstances". Does anyone know where I can find some solid documentation on this issue?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the offer, but this is a project for work, and so far I havn't been assigned any more time to work on it, so at this point, I'm not even sure if I've hit on the problem. I was just looking for leads wondering if anyone knows why $& is considered unstable.
