Word files Can't Post

can somebody tell me how to basic way to open a word file and read it line by line?

can i do it without using strict because if i use strict i get a error on this line of code

my odbc = new Win32::ODBC(efindX);

efindX is the database i am useing.

I know nothing about Win32::ODBC, but there are some pretty obvious syntax errors in your code. It shuld probably look more like.

my $odbc = new Win32::ODBC('efindX');

And actually, the indirect syntax for calling "new" can be dangerous and isn't recommended. you should use this instead
