strange character Can't Post

could some tell me what this character is? An arrow pointing upwards followed by an O or zero. and how can I remove it? It's suppose to be a newline character but I guess it turned out to be something else. I tried chomp or regex to remove new lines but still no luck. I shouldnt have to chop just in case I delete something important from the string.

thanks for replying. I managed to get around it. It was some sort of newline character.
