how to delete an oracle instance

Hi all,

I need to automate the deletion of an oracle9i database instance on both Windows and Solaris platform. I have tried to use oracle's command line tool oradim to delelte the instance on Windows platform, but failed. oracle's dbca tool is not a satisfying tool because it doesn't support silent mode of deleting a database instance. Can you give me some ideas of how to delete the oracle instance through Perl?

Thanks very much.

Please don't post the same question on multiple boards as it splits the discussion. I have locked this thread.
