step by step guide to a NEW FORM Can't Post

hi,

I'm new to CGI.

I know ASP.

is there any step by step guide to get the data from a HTML form and place it into a database with auto email.

I do not want others service providers services.

I would like to write the code host it into my server.

Thanks and Regards

P.Nagarajan

To get the data from an HTML form use the "param" function from the CGI module.

To insert data into a database use the DBI module.

To send an email use any of a number of modules from CPAN.

I know how to take a form and write it to a .txt file and I do this a lot on my own website (in my signature), but I don't know how to automatically send an email in perl.

See the FAQ.

How do I send mail?
