Reading the status of the parallel port Can't Post

Please I need a sample program in perl to read the status of the parallel port of the computer. I have perl program running on linux and active perl running on windows xp.

Did you try searching CPAN?

I haven't tried it, but Device::ParallelPort looks like it might be what you want.
