A set of properties per connection Can't Post

I'm trying to set up a small Perl messaging program. At the moment, the program just accepts connections on a specific port and prints the output.

I wasnt to be able to store a set of data per connection (for example a nickname, hostname etc.). What is the best way to go about this?

Any ideas are welcome!

What do you need exactly? In a socket connection you can accept as much datas as you want.If you can't store the datas into memory then you may consider some external database like DB_File,Mysql etc.
