Perl internal database Can't Post

Hi All,
Does Perl have any internal database to work with? I need to extract and manipulate a lot of data from a DB2 database. I am using Perl script database modules for this purpose. However, it is taking a lot of time because of many sqls from the same tables. It could be much faster if I, say, retrieve the table data and store it internally somewhere and then performing some queries against that resultset rather than doing queries against the LAN database. So, my question is would Perl support something like this. Because I have to do some queries against the initial resultset, storing it in a text file, etc wouldnt work. Can anyone let me know if this kind of thing is possible at all.
Thank you all very much in advance.

Try asking this question on www.perlmonks.com someone there might know of a solution or have some suggestions.
