hi all,
i have a webserver which developed using perl-cgi
I need to allow users to submit a large data and get the result later.
I have written the code to upload the data into my server.i need to know how we can make the program sleep for some time and invoke it when no other process is running?how can we send the results through a link to user's e-mail id?
Plz help.Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what you mean by "link", but I think you just want to know how to send an email with perl? if so, check out "sendmail". It is very handy and I believe it is installed on most webservers, but I must say that it is very picky about syntax.

Does that help at all? I don't know how to answer your other question.

Good luck! Scott

I am also unsure of what you are wanting to do, but look into a cron job (unix/linux) or task (windows) if you want a perl script to be run automatically at a certain time.
