mikemcclure New User Jul 1, 2008, 12:48 PM Post #1 of 2 (1771 views) Joomla Component JUser Can't Post In the JUser component for Joomla, under Field Manager, you can select an entry and edit the details(ie required, length, etc.) there is also an available validation field that requires a perl compatible regular expression. I need to figure out how to formulate a perl expression to validate that field from table of numbers stored in mysql and from there direct the user to a group and complete registration. Any ideas?

The regular expression is the wrong place to do that kind of validation. It's only meant for simple things like "Does this look like a phone number?" or "Is this a valid user name?", etc.
