Book advice Can't Post

Hello Perl Gurus,

I'm about to finish "Beginning Perl" by James Lee.
http://www.amazon.com/Beginning-Perl-Second-James-Lee/dp/159059391X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1217873468&sr=8-3
Incredible book - I can't say enough good things about it.

My questions is, what book should I read next to further my knowledge. I figured "Intermediate Perl" by Randal Schwartz http://www.amazon.com/Intermediate-Perl-Randal-L-Schwartz/dp/0596102062/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1217873468&sr=8-4
would be the next logical step. However, there doesn't seem to be any chapters on CGI or DBI...that seems weird.

I thought the Perl Cookbook by Tom Christiansen http://www.amazon.com/Perl-Cookbook-Second-Tom-Christiansen/dp/0596003137/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1217873468&sr=8-5
would be more focused on teaching examples rather than building on the fundamentals. But when i looked in the book, it seemed like it teaches you about a concept, then follows up with a real world example. This is really appealing to me.

Any advice?

Get the Perl BookShelf Reference on CD.

If you are interested in CGI programming then I suggest you search for books that specifically cover that topic and its not just a chapter or two in a larger book. I don't have any specific suggestion though.

The Perl Cookbook is good if you already know some perl.

Thanks Kevin. I'll check out the reference CD.

CGI is not the main topic of Perl that I want to learn, but I would still like to cover some of it.

I think I'll try the cookbook out first.

Heres a link to a free online perl book that has a CGI chapter:

http://www.perl.org/books/beginning-perl/

I've never read it myself, hopefully you will find it helpful.
