METHOD Post Can't Post

I created a perl script and an html file. the perl script is called when the user presses a button on the webpage. This works fine on my local web server, but not on-line. I've tried at more than one provider. I put the .pl file in xx/cgi-bin and the html file in xx/. When I press the button I was talking about, I get the message
"The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL xx/cgi-bin..

Why?

thanx, ds

Re: METHOD Post [In reply to] Can't Post

 Hmmm, that sounds like your server admin(s) aren't allowing POST methods on your server, well they have to give you something to work with so try using GET, in your form the tag

<form method="****" action="">

Make sure that the method is Get this time to check and see if that's going to work.

If it doesn't, you should ask your server administrator that your coding is fine and that you can't pass any data to your scripts from your pc because you can't use the POST method. The whole idea of CGI is to be able to do that, and to say you offer CGI but deny the POST method is pretty rediculous. I'd come out of the bull pen with em.
