WriteFile Equivalent in perl

WriteFile Equivalent in perl Can't Post

HI all,
I want to write some data to a tape drive through perl.. one idea
is to use scsi commands to send data.But i want to write it through
filesystem with the usage of something like "WriteFile" in c++.Can
anyone help me ??..Is there something equivalent to "WriteFile"
in perl??...Any other idea to write data into Tape drive???

I don't know C++ which also means I don't know what WriteFile does in C++.

In Perl, if you want to send scsi commands to a device, I'd probably start with this module:

Device::SCSI
http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/htdocs/Device-SCSI/Device/SCSI.html

Here's another option:
NBU::Drive - Support for tape Drives
http://search.cpan.org/~dutchman/NBU-0.95/lib/NBU/Drive.pm
Unfortunately the author of that module hasn't completed the documentation showing how it's used, so you may need to send him an email.

Is your question more basic, like "how do I write to a file"?
