How to write a script to check that query is timedout or not Can't Post

Hi all,

I am currently on process of writing a perl script to one of my test.

My test will verify that backup / restore operations are successful when executed concurrently with other DML and server operations.
One of the requirement of my test is to create a validator script that will verify that any SELECT operations against database that is backed up is not blocked. I think we can achieve this using timeout. For example, a reasonable timeout to those queries/selects and just fail if such a timeout elapses.

Can you please help me to write a perl script for this? It is really very urgent

Thanks

Hi balaji,

Sure we can help, but not yet: What is your strategy? That is, if you were doing this by hand, how would you do it? Once you have figured that out, we can talk.

Cheers,

Larry
