LWP & redirect to Can't Post

I have been trying to figure out why I see 302 redirects to from LWP::UserAgent requests (requests_redirectable enabled).

It seems I get this when there is no DNS record for a domain for example. And reading up about it, I see that regular "human" browsers make guesses on receipt of NXDOMAIN. And, as I understand it, the sogosearch people have very cleverly registered a domain that is likely to be "guessed" by the browser.

So, presumably, LWP::UserAgent is making these "guesses" and getting caught (or hijacked if you prefer).

Is this correct? Does anyone know of a fix?

(My LWP::UserAgent is v2.22 and I'm running Perl, v5.8.8 built for i386-linux-thread-multi)

It turns out this had nothing to do with Perl LWP.

My box had been configured with this line in resolv.conf:

domain net

And that caused the problem!
