How to read/parse information from opened Excel file Can't Post

Hi,
I am a newbie in perl/Win32 field and need help!.
I have been working on a project to use perl to parse/read real time data from an open Excel file which is getting real time data through DDE or RTD.
I have Activestate Perl installed in a XP machine and looked into using Win32::OLE and Spreadsheet-ParseExcel modules. It seems to me that they can only read from a file. I wonder if it is possible to read from an already opened Excel file.
Any help and suggestions are appreciated!

Mike

I don't know the answer, all I can suggest is if you get no suggestions on this forum try www.perlmonks.com or www.stackoverflow.com

Good luck
