schedule download? Can't Post

Hi I'm not too sure about this. I'm using either LWP::UserAgent or LWP::Simple. May I know is it possible to schedule it to download websites automatically at scheduled times? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Daniel

Re: schedule download? [In reply to] Can't Post

You can accomplish this easily by creating a program and invoking it using cron.

Cron is a daemon that is similar to an reminder program. Just as you'd set a reminder to let you know about a recurring appointment in every Tuesday at 4pm, cron continually runs in the background of your operating system, checking your list of "to-do" list for dates and times to do something.
So cron would be ideally suited for your needs.

A short tutorial on cron is at http://tlc.perlarchive.com/0001/04.shtml

Good luck!
