(Kevin and Others) Request For Book Suggestion

Can't Post

Kevin,R. (and other Perl guru's who can help) Dear Sir, After your recommendation, I tried to check Perl 5 by example but other than the homepage Nothing exists there anymore and all that I am able to read is "Page not found Sorry, the page you were looking for in the blog CodeBits - Tested Complex Code! does not exist. Go to blog homepage" This I can say with confidence for all the 8 Chapters listed in "Basics Section", that I checked. [EDIT A Few Minutes after I posted this message the above problem got sorted out on its own and now I am able to access it as before I do not know if there was a network problem or what but my problem detailed in this post remains Please read on] But the introduction and "Getting your feet wet" I read online as recent as just two days back. Does this means that only way out is to buy this book at Amazon. Could you be nice/kind enough to suggest some other "Free"/ online material other than the online documentation that may be of help, (I do have a copy of camel book but it is the real/hard stuff, you know not advisable to beginners). You see what is "a few dollars" for somebody living in a developed naton translates into a lot of money for somebody living in a developing country. A book priced in US dollars means (at least) price multiplied by 50 in terms of Indian currency. In short I am looking for some beginners material for my (B.Tech and M.Tech) students that can be followed as a Text-book in a one semester course. If you know of any Book that is simultaneously (also) been published in "Eastern Economy Edition- for sale only in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan etc", then it is "the" book i am looking for. VIKAS DEEP (Contract) Lecturer Department of Bioinformatics MANIT, Bhopal, State Of Madhya Pradesh (MP), India -For all my suggestions " I am sure someone else can do it in a better or elegant manner!"
