perlkid stranger May 9, 2000, 11:00 AM Post #1 of 7 (636 views) finger control with lwp user agent Can't Post   Cure told me that when using lwp I could use LWP User Agent to gain finger control of a file.(Thanks Again Cure) I thought that it meant taking parts of the file that you want. Well now I need to get a chunk of html from an html page on a news site. It is a block of form values. So it is between the form tags. How can I take html from a file between to tags using LWP User Agent. Thanks Guys, perlkid

It updates every day. So I need to get just the values of the form to get the updated values. The page is here. Or if you want to do it in a more fancy way, you could use the HTTP::Request::Form module to parse the contents returned by your LWP::UserAgent request - see http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/CPAN/data/HTTP-Request-Form/Form.html Or maybe HTML::Form might be easier to use... Note that what you intend to do may be in conflict with Bloomberg's TOS - see http://www.bloomberg.com/tos.html As for search engines, there already are many WWW::Search modules available if you want.
