unable to load unixODBC

I downloaded and installed the sql server ODBC driver from this link http://www.easysoft.com/products/data_access/odbc-sql-server-driver/getting-started.html . After installing I was trying to test the data sources but I did not find the unixODBC file in the /usr/local/easysoft folder.
while installing it asks me to install the unixODBC driver or to use the driver which is already installed in the system. for this i said to use the driver which is already existing.
Can anyone let me know how can I load just the unixODBC driver?? also could you give me the best tutorial to work on with the databases? I dont have any idea about accessing the databases with perl.
