To run a perl script independent from browser Can't Post

Hi All,

I have a question. it's silly, but i need the solution for it.

I have to run a perl script from browser. And the perl script to execute fully it takes of about 15 mins.

Mean while when i close the browser the perl scripts stops in the server. I am using the platform Solaris/Linux.

For me it doesn't want to happen this. in the sence when we click the button the action should be performed fully i mean the script should run in the server even i close the browser also.

I need this solution. Very Urgent :) :)

Please help me :):)

Thanks,

Ram

Use a CGI to fork off a process. Use:

Code
$SIG{'HUP'} = 'IGNORE';

See `perldoc perlvar` and search for /SIG/

__END__

I love Perl; it's the only language where you can bless your thingy.

Perl documentation is available at perldoc.perl.org. The list of standard modules and pragmatics is available in perlmodlib.

Get Markup Help. Please note the markup tag of "code".
