line feed, carraige return porblems Can't Post

i am having lots of problems with line feed and carraige returns. At least thats what i think it is. basically i can use other peoples scripts and i can manipulate them, as long as i dont press enter. this makes it impossible to write my own scripts. help, what can i do to solve this.
i use either wordpad or textpad.

It sounds like your problem is that you are FTPing the files from your computer to the server where they are to be executed in binary format, instead of ASCII format.

so you're saying that .pl and .cgi files are should be sent in binary mode. or are you saying that they should be saved in a different format.

You should transfer them in ASCII format. All text files should be FTPed in ASCII.
