Perl Compile Problem | "/perl -w" works??? Can't Post

I hope somebody can help me with this problem. I'm having problem compiling perl though my Apache Web server.. It's very strange I Installed the latest version of perl on my server (RedHat v. 6.2) and to run a program I can't use the usual: #!/usr/local/bin/perl

I have to use with comments e.g.
#!/usr/local/bin/perl -w

When I use the above header everything works correctly, ????????

Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this weird problem?

P.S. if you could email me at: Info@esitez.com I'd definitely appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Fuller

Are you saying that the script works when the header is

#!/usr/local/bin/perl -w

but not when the header is

#!/usr/local/bin/perl

Wild guess: you're ftp'ing the script from a windows machine and using BINARY mode (wrong) instead of ASCII mode (right). Transfering from a wintel box in BINARY mode will leave a ^M at the end of each lines. In the failing case, the OS isn't finding an executable named

/usr/local/bin/perl^M
